Linking
Ring Review (Part 4):
On
the first 24 Allakazam shows many new illusions are introduced
with such titles as “Sultan’s Scales,”
“World’s Biggest Card Trick,” “Mystery
of the Lamp Peddler,” “Enchanted Century Box,”
“Case of the Purloined Princess,” “Mystery
of Little Red Riding Hood,” and “Magic Circus.”
The “Haunted House” is a most memorable comedy
– listen to the audience as they cry out to Rebo to
“watch out.”

Many
sketches involve startling exchanges and transpositions
– Wilson is pursued by a ghost, then becomes the ghost,
or a gorilla, or the classic Toy Soldier Illusion (the Wilsons
appreciated the impact of this type of mind-boggling transformation).
Many shows contain several illusions. For the illusion enthusiast
and the creator of magic, these tapes are a gold-mine of
ideas, many of which are not being used today. Highest Recommendation.
